According to a post last Thursday on the Reversing Falls Facebook page, the restaurant at 200 Bridge Rd. is switching to a new format, going from table service to a “limited service restaurant” with food picked up at a counter.

“Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause,” the post said. “Anyone with mobility problems or disabilities we will do our best to accommodate you.”

The restaurant is operated by Max Kotlowski, of Reversing Falls Skywalk Inc., who signed a 60-year-lease in 2015, Brunswick News reported. It closed in 2020 due to the pandemic and sat dormant for two years before it was subleased to a company led by Patrick Vaughan in August 2022. The restaurant and gift shop “soft launched” that year as “The Plank” ahead of the 2023 cruise ship season.

Vaughan, reached by phone Thursday, said that the leaseholder had taken the restaurant back over following negotiations. Kotlowski deferred a request for an interview last Friday.

Will say we are preparing for tourism season and that we introduce a new one-page menu on Monday along with an order counter. Customers can choose where they sit,” Kotlowski said in an email.

City of Saint John spokesperson Erin White said in an email that questions about the restaurant’s operation should be directed to the leaseholder.

The new menu includes a selection of 14 entrees ranging in price from a $16 linguine alfredo to a $30 striploin steak, along with appetizers, desserts and drinks including beer and wine. Breakfast service on the weekend came to an end as part of the change.
